Shoes
A barefoot walk would suggest you wear no shoes. However, do not leave your shoes at home! You may wish to walk only bits on barefoot, or you may not wish to walk barefoot at all. Please note that walking barefoot is not compulsory, we would rather have you attend with your shoes on than not at all!
Clothes
The colour of Barefoot Peace Walk is white: white trousers, white skirts, white tops, white jumpers, anything you like, as long as it's white.
Why white?
Although many cultures connect different meanings to the colour white, we chose white because at times of war it often means 'truce' or ''surrender'. It symbolises a peaceful intent. This is the message we wish to convey throughout the walk; the need for a truce or surrender, the need for peace.
Official Barefoot Peace Walk t-shirts will be sold on the day for £8.
All the money made from selling these t-shirts will be going towards IRT's projects.
With a summer that seems to have started very late indeed, we are hoping for a warm September to make up for it! But if it is a bit chilly, we suggest bring a long sleeve to wear under your Barefoot Peace Walk t-shirt!
We will have new t-shirts made, but here are last year's so you have an idea of what to expect!
Last year's Barefoot Peace Walk t-shirts. New t-shirts with IRT's lovely new logo are in the making.
