Speakers
Victoria (left) and Jose will speak on hehalf of Congolese women about how they are affected by the LRA.Victoria Dove Dimandja and Jose Musau Kalanda are two ladies from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and run the It Must Stop Now Campaign which aims to raise awareness about the suffering of women in the east of their country. Although the DRC is faced with several rebel groups currently inflicting violence on innocent civilians, Victoria and Jose will share their expertise on specifically the LRA from a Congolese perspective at the Barefoot Peace Walk after event. These ladies are absolutely inspirational and not to be missed!
You will also be introduced to some of the work that IRT is doing in northern Uganda. The region is economically crippled because of the LRA conflict which lasted over 20 years. We want to show you how crucial it is that we do not let the same devastation take place in the three other countries where the LRA is now active.
