Legacies/Bequests

In the past some of our supporters have left legacies/bequests to IRT in their Will. We extend our sympathy to their families and are deeply grateful for their generous gift left for our work.

If you would like to guarantee the future of IRT's work, for all those refugees who have only IRT to turn to, please mention IRT specifically in your Will. If you have already made a Will you can always attach a codicil to it with a specific legacy to IRT, provided that you sign it in front of two witnesses. It is important to name the charity specifically and not just say it is for helping refugees.

A codicil would look something like this:

I (your full name) of (your address) declare this to be the (first) codicil to my Will dated (date).

I give the following legacy/bequest free of all duties and taxes (amount) to the International Refugee Trust. In all other respects, I confirm my Will.

IN WITNESS of which I have set my hand to this my (first) codicil this (date) day of (month) (year).

Signed by (your full name) as a (first) codicil to (his/her) Will dated (date of Will) in our presence and by us in (his/hers).
