We are always on the look out for budding volunteers of all ages. From packing envelopes in our London office, cheering our incredible supporters at marathons, and helping us at fundraising events, there's a volunteer role for all skills and abilities. Our volunteers work all over the UK, but mainly in London. We do not ask volunteers to visit our overseas projects.

Who volunteers?

We currently have two incredibly hard working volunteers helping us in our London office. Bill and Hugo are doing some amazing work for IRT and are really making a difference.

Bill is a tree surgeon with a military back round. He was really interested in our work with overseas projects and is also very keen to work in the charity sector in the future. Bill works one day a week for us and has various duties in the office, from working on our Database, to speaking to local businesses about our work.

I really enjoy volunteering at IRT. Its a small team and everybody works together to support refugee families around the world." - Bill

Hugo also works one day a week in our London office on our social media. He has a back round in finance and communications and wanted to donate some of his time to support our work with refugees overseas.

Being able to volunteer for IRT meant a lot to me as the causes they support are aligned with my beliefs. In addition, I can see how their work directly affects peoples lives, which also allowed me to gain a better understanding of the current refugee crisis overseas.” - Hugo

What volunteering involves

Most volunteer roles require you to commit to a certain number of hours a week, depending on your role. IRT will also cover your daily lunch and travel costs. We will provide full training for your role, and will of course be happy to give references to potential employers should you require them.

If you choose to volunteer at an event for IRT, we will give you a full brief of the work required from you, pay for your lunch and travel costs, and you will also have a representative from IRT available should you need any extra support or guidance. Volunteering can be a lot of fun, and quite often, will open doors to more permanent paid employment in the charity sector.

How to apply

Please fill out our short application form, and a member of the IRT team will be in touch with you shortly.

Current opportunities

We are looking for volunteers from all walks of life and ages. Please tell us as much as you can about yourself in your application, and we will suggest available roles suited to your skills and abilities. No experience in the charity sector is required.

Without our volunteers, we just wouldn't be able to continue our vital work. We are so incredibly grateful for all of their hard work and dedication."
